How do you say this?
We have noticed that English has been causing a lot of anxiety to learners, especially in Japan, where pronunciation has never been an issue before with their native language. This clip from I Love Lucy shows that people have been on to this for a long time.
So, is there really a problem with words making sounds that are completely random with respect to the way they are spelled? I'll answer you next Wednesday. Or is that Wendsday? Hey, who decided on this silly spelling anyway? We sure don't say it that way. Mercy!
